Reasons You Can Fail When Learning Spanish
I think the number one reason for failing in your efforts to learn Spanish must be loss of motivation. All too often we can start out with the best intentions in the world only to see them fade quickly over time.
It's really, really hard to continue learning something without any driving motivation behind it. Somehow it feels like such hard work - remember school?
Assuming your Spanish lessons or chosen course are of an O.K quality it's really only a matter of sustained effort over time in order to succeed and eventually get there. So you may not be the quickest in the class but does it really matter when we all end up achieving the same result anyway?
Firstly you need to find the strongest motivational reasons you can for wanting to learn the language, they should be things in the future you can picture yourself doing - things which excite your imagination. With that you'll have motivational juice which can sustain you whenever the going gets tough and you feel like you're
not making any progress learning Spanish.
We still don't understand exactly how the mind learns and even though it can feel at times that you are not making any progress, in the background you actually are. It's just going to take some time before the fruits become obvious and reveal themselves.
Obviously the reason most people fail to learn Spanish is because they quit! Pretty logical. But really this is all about staying the course over the long term and persevering. It's like a universal rule which applies to learning anything new - it's persistence over time which really matters.
